Huge amusement park
planned for Vietnam
(The Associated Press) - A foreign joint-venture
company plans to build Vietnam's first large-scale amusement center -- a $200
million entertainment complex in southern Ho Chi Minh City, company officials
said Wednesday.
The 116-acre complex, scheduled to open at the end of 2004, will include an
amusement park, water park, movie theaters and an open-air stage, SaigoMax
officials said.
A water park with rides opened in Hanoi two years ago, while Ho Chi Minh City
already has two water parks. However, recreation options remain very limited in
a country where per capita income has recently reached $400.
``I have rarely seen a market as ready as this one because there's literally no
competition,'' said Walt Beglinger, SaigoMax's chairman. Back
